Off the Record

The work that shows up in court records and case citations is only part of the picture. The rest of the time, I am usually in the water, at an easel, or behind a mixing desk. This page is a glimpse of the things that keep the mind sharp and the perspective wide.

Swimming & Endurance

I have been a competitive swimmer since childhood. In November 2024, I represented Delhi at the 20th National Masters Swimming Championships in Bhopal (50m and 100m Freestyle, 30–34 age group). Outside the pool, obstacle-course races and open-water sessions keep things interesting.

Spartan Race — sandbag carry through the mud. The kind of morning that makes a 10 AM court hearing feel calm.

Surfing

Whenever the brief allows a few days away, I head for the coast. There is something useful about a sport where the only strategy is to read what is coming and commit.

Oil Painting

I paint mostly in the Impressionist tradition — Van Gogh, Monet, Magritte — working from reference on a balcony easel when the light is good. The practice of looking closely at something for hours before committing a single stroke has an obvious parallel with case preparation, though I try not to overwork the analogy.

Music & Events

I founded Six Degrees Arts, a music and events company, and No Binary Records, an independent label. Through Six Degrees Arts, I have booked and produced shows for international acts including Flipsyde and P.O.D. at the Orange Festival Dambuk in Arunachal Pradesh. Qrated was a separate venture focused on curated DJ sets and intimate venue programming.

Independent coverage and records include Rolling Stone India on P.O.D. at Dambuk, Rolling Stone India on Flipsyde at Dambuk, and Homegrown on a No Binary Records release.
